Men's HockeyMills Cup holders Corinthians eased in to the last 16 of the competition yesterday with a 6-0 win over Weston at Whitechurch while Leinster League leaders Glenanneheld off the challenge of Monkstown, but only just - they won 2-1.

Trinity (2-0 winners over Suttonians), Bray (who beat UCD 5-2) and Fingal (7-0 winners over Naas) also advanced to the next round but Clontarf were made to work harder for their last-minute victory over Skerries on Saturday when John Smith (two) and Gordon Lindsey got their goals.

Tomorrow evening's ties between Pembroke Wanderers and YMCA and Three Rock Rovers and Portrane will complete the round.

Belfast Harlequins had no difficulty getting past Portadown in their re-fixed Irish Senior Cup tie on Saturday, winning 5-0 to set up a third-round meeting with Avoca next weekend.
