NEWS ROUND-UP: CORK PRODUCED a superb second-half display to beat Kerry, 3-10 to 0-9, in the Munster junior football semi-final at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, yesterday.

In the other semi-final, Clare beat Limerick, 0-13 to 1-7, in Ennis.

In the Nicky Rackard Cup, London beat Armagh, 1-19 to 0-12, Louth beat Monaghan, 1-12 to 1-8, Meath hammered Sligo, 1-23 to 0-10, while Roscommon defeated Fingal, 1-11 to 1-8. In the Lory Meagher Cup, Leitrim beat Fermanagh, 1-12 to 0-14, Donegal beat Cavan, 0-20 to 1-12, while South Down beat Tyrone, 5-6 to 3-9.

Finally, a desire to provide an affordable day out for families was one of the chief factors in choosing the 28,000-capacity Casement Park to host the Ulster SFC semi-final between Derry and All-Ireland champions Tyrone.

Children under the age of 16 will gain free admission to the game on Sunday, June 21st. And the clash will not be an all-ticket game.

The other semi-final between Cavan and Donegal or Cavan will be in Clones on Saturday, June 27th, and the same venue will host the final on Sunday, July 19th.
