CORK CONSTITUTION recorded their biggest league victory of the season when they swept aside the lacklustre challenge from Old Belvedere at Temple Hill on Saturday.

Old Belvedere found Constitution in top form and could never contend with the cohesion and strength of the home forwards.

While international Neil Francis found it hard enough to cope his depart tire through injury after 30 minutes left his side with absolutely no hope of winning the possession they required to make a match of it.

The one black spot for Constitution was a leg injury suffered by Paul Burke who was taken to hospital after the match with a suspected fracture.

Constitution, in some ways, will also be annoyed with themselves for not producing this type of form earlier in the campaign.

But for the home fans it was, at least, a fitting way to finish off in their last home encounter.

They led 23-0 at half time and were 42 points to the good before Old Belvedere got a brace of trys only to allow Constitution have the last say.

The Constitution trys came from Ultan O'Callaghan (2). Alan Byrne, David O'Brien, Den is O'Dowd and a penalty try. Burke kicked two penalties and four conversions and Barry Walsh had a dropped goal.

Cormac Johnson and Harry McDonnell each had a try for Belvedere and Barry Murphy kicked a conversion.

After a century of terrifying their opponents, rugby union's mighty All Blacks are at risk of breaking into conflict among themselves after a controversial admission by a veteran that he wanted to get at a fellow player sometimes in a ruck.

The remark by No 8 and sometimes All Black captain Zinzan Brooke has sparked a flurry of apologies and speculation that New Zealand's national rugby team is in serious strife prior to a tough tour of South Africa.

It follows last year's failed attempt by All Blacks to sign up with the newly formed World Rugby Corporation (WRC). In the end the players stayed with the New Zealand Rugby Football Union (NZRFU).

Brooke appeared on Television New Zealand to attack fellow All Blacks Jeff Wilson and Josh Kronfeld whom he said broke ranks with WRC players and instead signed with NZRFU.
