Cork...4-13 Kerry...1-9: Cork produced a wonderful display of attacking football to overcome the reigning Munster champions, Kerry, and claim a first provincial senior title.

It was nip and tuck early on in the first half and after 10 minutes Kerry led 0-3 to 0-2 thanks to two points from Ger O'Shea and a point for Sarah O'Connor after Cork's Ger O'Flynn had scored two quick frees.

The sides were level coming right up to half-time when a goal from Aisling O'Connor left Cork front, 2-5 to 1-5, at the interval.

Neither side managed to take decisive control of the game immediately after the half-time break and it was still all to play for, at 2-8 to 1-8, until two superb long-range points from the player of the match, Ger O'Flynn, at last earned Cork some real breathing space.

Then, in the the 52nd minute, Valerie Mulcahy scored a bullet of a goal to put Cork 3-10 to 1-9 ahead and more or less out of reach.

Captain Juliette Murphy, Valerie Mulcahy and Breige Corkery added points to compound Kerry's misery until the brilliant O'Flynn ran half the pitch before scoring a sensational goal to put the icing on the cake for the new champions.
