Camogie All-Ireland senior championship/ Cork 4-16; Limerick 1-6: Cork showed their intent for this year's championship on Saturday as they defeated Limerick in the second round at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, ahead of the hurling qualifier between Cork and Tipperary.
Cork led by just two points, 1-8 to 1-6, at half-time. Limerick's Sinéad McAuliffe sent over the opening score from a free after three minutes. Three minutes later Cork went ahead with two points from Briege Corkery, but back came McAuliffe to equalise for Limerick.
Úna O'Donoghue scored a goal for Cork in the 15th minute but Limerick hit a goal six minutes later through Dympna O'Brien.
While both sides exchanged points before half-time, it was Rachel Moloney who fired home the last point of the half to ensure Cork had the lead on the turn.
Limerick failed to score in the second half while Cork's Jennifer O'Leary had a second Cork goal after just seven minutes while substitute Sheila Burns scored two goals.
Meanwhile, Wexford retained their Leinster junior championship title when they defeated Kildare by 5-11 to 0-6 in Wexford Park on Saturday.
