Cork 0-19 Waterford IT 0-5:WITH MOST of the Cork AllIreland-winning panel in South Africa on a team holiday, it was left to selector Terry O'Neill to assemble a squad and, while little can be read into this game, the home side put in a fine performance at Páirc Uí Rinn yesterday.

Leading by 0-8 to 0-4 at the break, Cork hit 10 points in a row at the start of the second half.

David Goold, brother of Fintan, impressed in attack, as did Colm O’Driscoll and Jason Sexton, while substitute Mark Cronin scored four points.

Despite looking as if they might make a game of it at 0-5 to 0-3, WIT wilted after the break.
