Munster MHC Final/ Cork 2-20 Tipperary 1-15: Cork completed their three-in-a-row of Munster Minor hurling championships when they defeated Tipperary at Semple Stadium having come from behind to secure the win.
Trailing by a goal at the break, 1-9 to 0-9, Cork turned in a fine second-half display to overturn the Tipp men with their potent attack turning on the style.
Tipperary had a goal from Tony Dunne in the 12th minute which proved to be the difference between the sides up to the break. It was nip and tuck in the scoring stakes with Pa Burke grabbing four for Tipp, alongside scores from Tony Dunne, Eoin Hogan, Niall Bergin, Brendan Maher and Séamus Hennessy.
Cork on the other hand had points from the flying Dan O'Callaghan, Patrick Horgan, Thomas Murray, Robert White, and Lee Desmond.
Tipp extended their interval lead to five within two minutes of resumption, but Cork hit back with points from Brian Corry, Horgan, O'Callaghan and Donagh Stack.
And when Colm O'Neill blasted a fine Cork goal in the 46th minute, the Rebels were on their way. A second goal from Robert White in the 53rd compounded Tipperary's problems and Cork were never going to be caught.
It was a fine win for Cork, especially having come from five down. They outscored Tipperary by 2-10 to 0-5 in the second half and proved their worth when they needed to.
Horgan, O'Callaghan, Lee Desmond, Adrian Mannix and Joe Moran were impressive for Cork while Paudie O'Sullivan also had his moments.
Tipperary had designs on winning this trophy and the defeat is a big blow to them.
However, their season is not ended yet and if they recover from the defeat they can still have a say in the championship.
