Cork City avenged their defeat by Dundalk earlier in the season with this 3-1 win at Oriel Park yesterday. Two goals by Noel Hartigan and one from Conor O'Grady plunged Dundalk into deeper relegation trouble. Cork took the lead after 30 minutes when Ollie Cahill's corner wasn't cleared and O'Grady sent a powerful shot to the net from 15 yards. Dundalk could have been level before the break as Martin Reilly headed over the bar. Reilly then squandered a great opening and James Keddy had a shot taken off the line.
Cork wrapped up the points in the 72nd minute when Hartigan drilled the ball to the net. Cork added a third in the 84th minute from Hartigan before substitute Ger Robinson grabbed a consolation for Dundalk a minute later.
