McGRATH CUP FINAL/Cork 1-13 UL 0-6:CORK CONCLUDED a successful McGrath Cup campaign by easily defeating UL in the final at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday in defying treacherous conditions. The sides were level 0-4 each after 23 minutes, Cork scoring the opening four points before Enda Varley sparked a UL revival, but a Conor McManus effort helped Cork lead 0-7 to 0-4 at half-time.
Conor McCarthy shoved Cork 0-12 to 0-5 in front after 41 minutes and while Varley responded with an equally eye-catching point in the 49th minute there was no stopping the home side. Substitute Séamus Hayes pounced for the only goal four minutes from the end.
