Martin CORRY, the 27-year-old Leicester forward, has been called up to the Lions squad from England's base in Vancouver, partly as cover for Lawrence Dallaglio but also in light of unconfirmed reports that the 21-year-old Scottish back-rower Simon Taylor sustained a serious knee injury in the win over Western Australia.
Gordon Bulloch, the Scottish hooker, has abandoned his holiday in Colorado to join the Lions squad for the remainder of the tour as a knee injury has cast a cloud over Phil Greening. An MRI scan diagnosed Greening as having a grade two tear of his medial ligament. "Medical opinion is that he could be alright in two to three weeks," said Donal Lenihan.
The team to play a Queensland President XV in Townsville on Tuesday will be announced tomorrow. Jonny Wilkinson won't be considered yet, while Iain Balshaw may be ruled out. Matt Perry's neck strain shouldn't rule him out of the next game and Mike Catt picked up a calf strain which has to be assessed.
