Schools' Soccer Leinster Senior Cup final/Firhouse CC 3 Naas CBS 1: Firhouse CC were crowned Leinster Senior Cup champions for the first time yesterday after a close final at the AUL complex Clonshaugh yesterday. Their three goals included a penalty courtesy of hard-working midfielder Glen Coughlan.

Naas managed a single goal, despite numerous chances.

Naas scored after only two minutes when Firhouse goalkeeper Philip Bergin fluffed a long clearance and Max Bradley was well placed on the edge of the 18 yard box to strike home first time.

But two minutes later Firhouse equalised when David Cronan sent in a low cross from just outside the box and Coughlan blasted home from seven yards.
