COLLEGES HURLING - Enniscorthy CBS 4-6 Good Counsel 2-9: Enniscorthy CBS caused a major upset when they held out for a three-point victory over a highly-fancied Good Counsel in their Leinster A senior hurling quarter-final at Killurin yesterday.
Enniscorthy deserved their five-point (2-2 to 0-3) interval lead, Rory Jacob and Eoin Murphy getting the goals.
The second half produced a titanic struggle as Good Counsel strove to get back into the game.
When it looked as if they were back in contention, a Bill Whelan goal gave Enniscorthy a five-point cushion with 10 minutes left.
