Cregan return looks likely

GAA/News: There is growing confidence in Limerick that agreement will be reached today in the Eamon Cregan saga. Talks between the county board executive, the senior hurling team selectors and Cregan were held yesterday and on Saturday. A conclusion is expected following further discussions planned for noon today.

A spokesman said they were concerned at what he described as an inaccurate report on TV3 which claimed that team sponsors, Moran's Hotel, Red Cow had been involved in talks with the county board in a local hotel last week.

While Cregan may return as manager, one reliable source said nothing was definite at this stage as there were some issues still to be resolved. It is understood that Mossie Carroll, who succeeded Cregan before he withdrew his resignation, would have an important role to play in any new structure.
