Former All-Ireland champions Crossmaglen Rangers scored a resounding 13-point victory over minnows Madden in the Armagh Senior Football Championship final played at The Athletic Grounds yesterday.

Armagh county player Oisin McConville grabbed 2-6 of the total, both goals coming from the penalty spot in the 25th and 41st minutes.

The champions were eight points up before Madden registered and led 1-12 to 0-4 at the break. Two of Madden's points arrived in as many minutes from their best forward, Gerard Grimley.

Three unanswered points in the third quarter proved little comfort for the losers who lacked skills and accuracy. Rangers stepped up a gear, adding 1-4, McConville's second penalty nine minutes from time, rounding off a facile victory.
