Bohemians 3 St Patrick's Athletic 1Glen Crowe's fifth and sixth goals of the season sent Bohemians on their way to victory at Dalymount Park last night, and despite a Tony Bird reprieve for St Pat's, a Kevin Hunt penalty then secured the points.
Crowe's first goal, in the 39th minute, was fashioned by Kevin Hunt, with the Bohs midfielder splitting the Pat's defence with a sublime ball. Crowe lifted the ball over the onrushing Adamson and into the net.
In the 63rd minute, David Morrison missed a guilt-edged chance to double the home side's advantage, but just seconds later a fluffed Adamson clearance saw Crowe facing his second one-on-one dual of the night with the goalkeeper and once again it was the Bohs striker who came out on top.
Pat's found themselves back in the game five minutes later, when Jimmy Lee Jones blocked a Thomas Heary clearance, with the ball then spinning onto the head of Bird who cushioned it past Kelly.
However, that good work was undone three minutes later when Colm Foley clumsily brought down Tony Grant in the box, with Kevin Hunt then making no mistake with the ensuing spot kick.
