Crowe to take charge of final

Cavan's Brian Crowe will referee the All-Ireland football final between Kerry and Mayo in a fortnight's time

Cavan's Brian Crowe will referee the All-Ireland football final between Kerry and Mayo in a fortnight's time. It will be a first such appointment for the Cavan Gaels man, who earlier this season took charge of the Leinster semi-final between Dublin and Laois as well as Dublin's All-Ireland quarter-final against Westmeath.

Crowe has taken charge of two All-Ireland club finals, with mixed results for Mayo teams. Crossmolina lost to Cork's Nemo Rangers in 2003, whereas last year Ballina Stephenites defeated Portlaoise.

Syl Doyle from Wexford takes charge of the minor final, between Kerry and Roscommon, for the first time. A member of the Ballyhogue club, he refereed this year's Munster final replay between Kerry and Cork.
