Munster School's Senior Cup:CBC 5 St Munchin's 14 ST MUNCHIN'S turned in an impressive performance at Musgrave Park yesterday afternoon to put a serious dent in CBC's ambitions.
It was CBC who made the better start, and they took a 12th-minute lead courtesy of a try from Graham Mackesy.
St Munchin's soon took control of the game and registered their first score through Michael Madden in the 16th minute. The towering secondrow forward showed great composure to slot home a penalty from a difficult angle wide on the right.
The Shannonsiders edged in front with their only try of the game on the half-hour mark. Outhalf Robert Guerin's delightful crossfield kick found Craig O'Hanlon, and the winger touched down. Madden kicked two further penalties for St Munchin's.
