GOLF: The Musgrave Crumlin Children's Hospital Club Challenge is up and running in earnest with over 100 clubs already entered for this very popular competition. This is already 23 more than entered last year's competition, eventually won by Roscommon Golf Club in Portugal.

There is still plenty of time to enter and those interested in obtaining the details can contact tournament organiser Pat Cashman through Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin at 01-4096300. The provincial finals will take place in the first two weeks in September with the national final being held in Capetown, South Africa from November 10th-17th.

The venues for the provincial finals have already been decided. Leinster's decider will be held at Mullingar GC with Castle Hume (Ulster), Westport (Connacht) and Nenagh (Munster) hosting the other finals.

The winning teams from each of these venues - the respective club captain from those clubs also travels - will go forward to the national final in South Africa, a stunning conclusion to a worthy competition.
