Londoners had few problems scoring goals in the first division, with those produced by Neil Shipperly and his fellow strikers augmented by a highly productive attacking midfield. Since then, however, Steve Coppell (pictured) has sold David Hopkin and released Ray Houghton which may indicate that he's been feeling the pressures of management once again.

The arrival of Attilio Lombardo may go some way towards compensating for the defections but Juventus may not have let the Italian winger leave if he had fully re-established himself in the team after recovering from injury. Paul Warhurst's position is somewhat similar, while Kevin Miller remains unproven at this level. It could be another tough year at Selhurst Park.
