Liam Cummins, who hails from Clane, Co Kildare, notched a 142 to 1 double at Chepstow yesterday when taking both divisions of the bumper aboard Jeff King's What's The Score and Mister M, trained by Ben de Haan.
But there was a sad postscript to Mister M's success as the five-year-old collapsed and died on pulling up.
Conditional jockey Cummins (21), who has had spells with Dermot Weld and Peter McCreery, was riding his 15th winner of the season and rides out of King's Swindon stables.
Meanwhile, Kempton Park and Pertemps are to sponsor a race at Fairyhouse on Sunday in an attempt to encourage Irish entries for the Christmas Festival at the Sunbury track. The £18,000 Pertemps Christmas Festival at Kempton Park Hilly Way Chase is on the supporting card for the Grade One Duggan Brothers Hatton's Grace Hurdle.
The last Irish horse to win at the Festival was Dawn Run in the 1983 Christmas Hurdle and representatives from Kempton and Pertemps will be at Fairyhouse on Sunday to meet owners and trainers who might be interested in having runners at the meeting.
This year's Christmas Festival takes place on December 27th and 28th.
