Ciaran Power (Age: 25; Event: Road race) - Series of high-stage placings in the Pro-Tour in Britain won him a place with the Linda McCartney professional cycling team and he finished sixth in a stage of the Giro d'Italia.

Robin Seymour (Age: 29; Event: Mountain Bike) - Unlucky to miss out on Atlanta, the British-based rider dominates the sport in Ireland.

Deidre Murphy (Age: 41; Event: Women's road race) - Born in New York she qualifies for Ireland through her parents. Won four medals at the World Masters in '99.

Tarja Owens (Age: 23; Event: Mountain Bike) - A late call-up for Sydney after being granted a vacated place. Joins her boyfriend Robin Seymour in Sydney.
