D'Arcy ruled out for Leinster

Celtic League/ Leinster v Ospreys Liberty Stadium 7

Celtic League/ Leinster v Ospreys Liberty Stadium 7.10: A late change to the Leinster team that faces a badly depleted Ospreys at Liberty Stadium sees Gordon D'Arcy ruled out with a hip injury for tonight's match and Felipe Contepomi move to inside centre.

Jonathan Sexton comes into the outhalf position and Christian Warner moves to the bench.

It is not such good news for Michael Cheika that D'Arcy as well as Chris Whitaker and Girvan Dempsey are out but with the Ospreys eviscerated due in part to injury and to the friendly international match between Wales and South Africa in the Millennium Stadium, the Dublin side will travel expecting to get a return on this meeting.

In all there are 17 Ospreys players unavailable. Ten of them - Sonny Parker, Gavin Henson, James Hook, Mike Phillips, Jonathan Thomas, Ian Evans, Alun Wyn Jones, Huw Bennett and Duncan Jones - are on Wales duty, while Shane Williams, Justin Marshall, Lee Byrne, Ian Gough, Ryan Jones, David Bishop and Barry Williams, are injured.

In once sense that puts more pressure on Leinster as they try to rehabilitate themselves after an error-strewn display against Toulouse last weekend. They are effectively facing a second string Ospreys side, albeit in Wales, and come into the game as unlikely favourites.

In the mix Rob Kearney replaces Dempsey at fullback, with Luke Fitzgerald coming on to the left wing. Cillian Willis, who replace Whitaker in the Toulouse game, partners Jonathan Sexton at halfback.

In the pack, Stan Wright, Leo Cullen and Keith Gleeson remain from last weekend with Cameron Jowitt, who came on as a sub, forming a new backrow partnership with young prospect Kevin McLaughlin and Gleeson. Shane Jennings moves to the bench. Ireland A hooker Brian Blaney also comes in for Bernard Jackman.

"Last weekend's defeat in Toulouse came down as much to individual errors as anything else," said Rob Kearney, who was intercepted trying to chip over an approaching Toulouse line.

"Our concentration wasn't as good as it had been the previous week, but we're all really looking forward to the challenge against an excellent Ospreys side."

Leinster have lost in their two previous visits to Liberty Stadium but as the team with most of their full complement of players available need to show the robust side they illustrated against Leicester in the RDS a few weeks ago. Do that and they will win convincingly.
