LAURIE DALEY could be at the head of an invasion of the British rugby league game by top Australian players this summer. The Australian Rugby League's victory in the Federal Supreme Court means Daley and a host of other star names - including Ricky Stuart, Wendell Sailor and Steve Renouf - must honour their original ARL contracts.
But Test star Daley has vowed never to play for the ARL again and revealed he will consider playing for a British club if the Rupert Murdoch backed Super League fails to start in Sydney next weekend.
"I've made my decision and I'm not going back. I won't be pulling out of Super League and there's still a lot of fight left in us," said Daley, just hours after the court's verdict was announced.
"I am sure Super League will start but if not, there's the possibility of playing in England. I'm an employee of News Limited and I'll take their advice on what to do. We want to stick together and we are right behind News Limited."
