Roscommon 0-13 Wicklow 1-10:A goal in the last minute by Jacko Dalton gave Wicklow an unlikely draw with Roscommon in a low-quality Division Three match at Hyde Park.
Roscommon led by five points with 10 minutes remaining but Wicklow fought back to reduce the gap to three by the 70th minute before Dalton pounced for the equalising goal, firing home after Conor McGraynor’s speculative lob from a free wasn’t dealt with by the home defence.
Well-taken points from Cathal Shine and Donie Smith edged Roscommon two ahead at the end of a drab first-half.
John McGrath’s earlier accuracy deserted him after half-time when he missed three scoreable chances. Wicklow went 23 minutes without scoring following a point just after half-time by James Sherrin.
Points from Cathal Daly (his third), Smith (two) and Michael Finneran saw Roscommon take control. But three points from McGraynor and one from McGrath set up a tense finale before Dalton got the dramatic late goal.
