KERRY SHC SEMI-FINALS:DUBLIN MANAGER, and former Clare captain, Anthony Daly was hoping for a better send off than a Kerry senior hurling semi-final loss to Lixnaw in a tense senior hurling semi-final at Austin Stack Park, where Lixnaw beat Kilmoyley on a 1-13 to 0-13 scoreline.

Lixnaw fought hard in the second half after the sides were tied on 0-9 apiece at the interval.

Shane Brick had scored 0-5 for the champions in the opening half while Kerry senior James Flaherty had notched 0-6 for Lixnaw.

Kilmoyley then proceeded to squander chance after chance amassing 12 second-half wides as Lixnaw were forced to live on scraps and the game was decided when man-of-the-match Enda Galvin fed dangerman Micheál Conway in the 48th minute for goal that separated the sides.

Daly said afterwards that he had enjoyed his four years with Kilmoyley, losing to Lixnaw in the 2007 final and then posting back-to-back county titles.

“We just we not clinical enough in front of goal and shot some incredible wides,” he said.

“I won’t be involved next year for sure. It’s been tough going over the past couple of years and I will have enough on my plate now with the Dublin job so that’s it for now.”

Lixnaw will now face Ballyduff as expected in the Kerry county final on Sunday week, after they powered past St Brendan’s on a 1-18 to 2-8 scoreline.
