THE TEAM to represent Ireland in the FBD Milk Ras, which starts in Dublin on Saturday week, was announced yesterday by the organiser, Dermot Dignam. The national champion, Peter Daly, heads the five-man selection.

Daly, winner of the Junior Tour in 1990 and sixth in the Ras last year, will be accompanied on the Ireland Supermilk team, sponsored by Premier Dairies, by Leslie McKay, Bill Moore, Eugene Moriarty and Ciaran Power.

Daly, from Kilkenny, has switched this season to a new team in France, St Quentin, and McKay and Moriarty are also French based.

Moore is from Stamullen and Power, of the Comeragh club, won in Cork on Monday.

Daly is number one on a record entry list of 187 with teams also from Holland, France, Germany, Belgium, Britain, the Philippines, Japan, Scotland and Wales with 10 English regional selections and 17 county teams.
