Naas:Tracey Collins hopes to map out a campaign in the major sprints after Dandy Man has made his seasonal reappearance at Naas today. The four-year-old runs in the Woodlands Stakes, having finished runner-up in the same Listed contest over five furlongs last April.

"He's done very well and we are very pleased with him," said Tracey Collins, who took over the reins at the family's Curragh yard when her father, Con, died in January.

"He's wintered really very well. He's strengthened up an awful lot and developed very well. We are quite pleased with him."

Dandy Man performed creditably for a three-year-old against seasoned campaigners last term. After winning the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket in May he was fourth in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He then won a Listed race at the Curragh, only to disappoint in the Nunthorpe Stakes on softish ground at York in August.

Although all his six runs last year were confined to the minimum trip, Collins has not ruled out stepping him up to six furlongs at some stage.

"He's in the Temple Stakes and there are also a couple of other races here in Ireland," added the trainer. "We'll make up our minds and organise a campaign after we've seen how he gets on tomorrow."
