Interprovincial Football Semi-finals/Leinster 1-10 Munster 1-9: A crowd of about 1,500 in Portlaoise witnessed a thrilling game with the opening score coming from Munster's Paul Garvin. Paschal Kelleghan replied for Leinster and a further exchange between Declan Browne and John Doyle levelled matters at the end of the quarter.
Munster's Conor Fitzgerald placed Declan Browne for a goal and Colm Cooper stretched their lead with a point. Matty Forde and Declan Browne exchanged points as Leinster finished the half with points from Doyle and Alan Brogan to leave the half-time score, Munster 1-4, Leinster 0-5.
Doyle's point two minutes after the break narrowed the gap to a point; but Munster replied with points from Fitzgerald, Browne and Cooper before Brogan landed a goal for Leinster.
Browne stretched his side's lead, but Doyle narrowed the gap with a point and Forde sent over the equaliser with seven minutes remaining. A great run by Damian Healy saw him give Leinster the lead after 58 minutes before a dubious free was converted by Browne and extra-time loomed, but Leinster substitute Padraic Davis send over a the winner.
