RACING:Dawn Approach is starting on the road back to racing action and a first start since Godolphin purchased a controlling share in next year's Classic favourite, writes Brian O'Connor.

The unbeaten Jim Bolger-trained colt is as low as 7 to 1 favourite for the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas in 2013 after an impressive Coventy Stakes success at Royal Ascot, after which Sheikh Mohammed got out his cheque book. Dawn Approach has entries in the forthcoming Phoenix Stakes and also the Futurity and National Stakes, races won by previous Bolger stars, Teofilo and New Approach.

“He’s very well, he’s had an easy four and a half weeks now since Ascot so we’re beginning to step it up now at the moment and we’ll make some decision on him in the next three weeks or so,” said Bolger yesterday.

“He’s hardy with a great constitution with good limbs. He ticks all the boxes,” he added.
