Men's 200 metres
It may not create another world record, but the men's 200 metres will surely see America maintain their unrivalled domination of the sprint events in Seville.
Maurice Greene (US) Age: 25. Personal Best: 19.86. With defending champion Ato Boldon missing through injury, this is Greene's chance of achieving the first 100/200 metre double in World Championship history. Still, is only the second fastest this season of the eight man line-up.
Frankie Fredericks (Namibia) Age: 31. Personal Best: 19.68. The first Namibian to win an Olympic medal and then a world title for his country, the gold medal coming in Stuttgart back in 1993 (his sole championship victory in the event). But has collected nine major medals in total and remains the second fastest man in history.
Francis Obikwelu (Nigeria) Age: 20. Personal Best: 19.84. Now resident in Portugal. Shocked everyone, including himself, with his 19.84 seconds when winning the semi-final (the fastest in the world this year) and on paper is the main threat to Greene.
Julian Golding (Britain) Age: 24. Personal Best: 20.18. The Commonwealth champion and European bronze medallist from last season, he will be the main British hope in the absence of Dougie Walker. But with the difficult lane one draw, will need to improve his best to get into the medals.
