Feyenoord (1) v Rangers (1)(kick-off, 6.0)Ronald de Boer will be back to face Feyenoord when Rangers attempt to go one better than they did against the Dutch last week.
The Rotterdam team are favourites to go through to a UEFA Cup quarter-final against either PSV Eindhoven or Leeds after their 1-1 draw in Glasgow but the news that De Boer, who missed that game, is fit has provided the Scots with a timely boost.
The Rangers manager Alex McLeish said: "Ronald has taken a fitness test and we knew if he failed it he could be out for weeks but he was prepared to try because he wants to play and put one over his old rivals and I'm sure he'll make it."
Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk is under pressure. His team has surrendered a healthy lead at the top of the league and with the new pace-setters Ajax lying in wait in Amsterdam on Sunday he admitted: "It's the week of truth."
Yesterday he stormed out of a pre-match press conference, reacting to questioning about his side's poor league form by ending the session there and then.
The Feyenoord manager did stay long enough to admit he faced a tactical dilemma tonight.
While Rangers now know they must at least score to progress, Feyenoord must decide either to gamble on a 0-0 draw or push forward in search of goals.
Van Marwijk, who confirmed that Ibrox goalscorer Shinji Ono was doubtful with a thigh injury, said: "One-one is a good starting position but we could have won in Glasgow. We are facing a dilemma. We could defend for a 0-0, but we want to attack just like we did in Glasgow.
"I expect a different Rangers but we are prepared for everything."
Van Marwijk will have to do without suspended striker Jon Dahl Tomasson. Former Celtic man Pierre van Hooijdonk should play despite an Achilles injury. But Chilean defender Mauricio Aros is still suffering from flu and will be unavailable.
