New signing Paul Campbell made an immediate impact on his Dundalk debut as he laid the foundation for his new side's 2-1 win over Kilkenny City at Oriel Park on Saturday night.
Campbell got on the end of David Crawley's 36th minute corner to head past Kilkenny goalkeeper, Robbie Forde.
Anto Reilly, making his starting debut, added a second two minutes before half time when skipping into the box to shoot home.
Jonathan Prizeman got one back for a hesitant Kilkenny on 68 minutes but Dundalk had more than enough to hold on to their win which puts them just one point behind leaders Bray.
St Francis climbed into the top half of the table with a solitary goal from Gavin Moore sufficient to beat Home Farm/Fingal at Whitehall.
Moore, an ex-Home Farm player, beat Paul Whelan with a speculative 25 yard shot for the only goal of the game. In yesterday's re-arranged game, bottom of the table Athlone Town twice came from behind to earn a point from a 2-2 draw with Cobh Ramblers at St Mel's Park.
Liam O'Connor gave Cobh an 11th minute lead with Peter Finn equalising on 25 minutes. Ten minutes later Cobh jumped back in front through Paul Coughlan. Gary Donoghue salvaged a point with Athlone's second equaliser two minutes before the break.
