CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ROUND-UP:ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO scored two stunning goals to give Juventus a 2-0 win at Real Madrid to put the Italians through to the knockout stage.
The striker grabbed the opener in the 2-1 win over Real in Turin two weeks ago and repeated the feat after 17 minutes at the Bernabeu, crashing a left-foot shot past Iker Casillas as the defence backed off.
Del Piero's second came from a direct free on 67 minutes which he whipped the ball past the wall into the left-hand corner of the net with Casillas rooted to the spot.
Real coach Bernd Schuster included Arjen Robben in his team but the Dutch winger was injured in the warm-up and replaced by compatriot Royston Drenthe.
The Primera Liga champions sorely missed Robben's pace and penetration and found it hard to create clear chances, particularly in the second half.
Sergio Ramos almost equalised on 24 minutes but his half-volley flew over the bar while striker Ruud van Nistelrooy blasted narrowly over before half-time.
With four matches played, Juve top Group H on 10 points with Real second on six. Zenit St Petersburg, who beat Borisov 2-0, have four and the Belarus side two.
Tim Borowski scored a late goal to earn Bayern Munich a 1-1 draw at Fiorentina and put the Germans on the brink of the last 16. The unmarked midfielder controlled a Franck Ribery ball from the left and tapped in 12 minutes from time to give the visitors a barely deserved share of the spoils.
Romania striker Adrian Mutu had volleyed the home side in front in the 11th minute after Alberto Gilardino glanced on Luciano Zauri's cross .
Bayern have eight points from four games and share the lead of Group F with Olympique Lyon, who beat Steaua Bucharest 2-0, while Fiorentina are five points behind in third.
Fiorentina missed a number of chances in the second half, most notably when Gilardino overhit an attempted lob and had a powerful strike blocked by Rensing, while Mutu headed over from close in.
Borowski made them pay for their wastefulness and Miroslav Klose almost snatched it for the Germans shortly after.
