Skerries CC ... 6 The High School ... 3: A drop goal from Skerries outhalf Eoghan Dempsey proved to be the winning score in the Junior Cup Section B match at King's Hospsital yesterday.
Dempsey put his side in front with a third minute penalty after a good build up from the smaller Skerries pack.
On the stroke of half time a rare High School sortie into their opponents '22 resulted in a penalty that Ben Duffy converted to tie the game.
Dempsey's drop goal set the alarm bells ringing in The High School ranks; but some brave tackling, especially from centre Eddie O'Mahony, kept them at bay.
