National League, Premier Division/Longford Town 0 UCD 0: It is now 526 minutes - almost nine hours - since Longford Town goalkeeper Michael Dempsey last had to pick the ball out of the back of his net.
However, despite a fifth successive game without conceding a goal, Longford remain in ninth position in the Premier Division table as victory was required to leapfrog Bohemians and UCD, their opponents at Flancare Park on Saturday night, into seventh place.
They will feel that they should have picked up all three points.
They created the opening chance in the 10th minute. Dessie Baker's cross was met by a fierce Alan Kirby volley but Alan Mahon's block averted the danger.
UCD had a great chance of their own just six minutes later. Tony McDonnell's glancing header left Gary Dicker in space but his effort went well over.
Ronan Finn had another chance for College in the 37th minute but he was badly off target.
Another chance followed for Longford within a minute. However, following an excellent build-up, Danny O'Connor's fine strike was well stopped by Quigley.
