Springtime, the 7 to 4 favourite, won the £60,000 Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night. Owned and trained by Gerald Watson, from Carnlough, Co Antrim, Springtime only justified her favouritism in the second half of the 550 yards race, finishing ahead of Airmount River and Badge of Tidings respectively.
