Derry recorded their first victory of the new league campaign with a comfortable 12-point win over London at Celtic Park.

Derry led 2-8 to 0-2 at half-time. Their goals came in the three minutes before the break. Benny Murray scored the first when he was quickest to react when Eamonn Burns's shot rebounded off the crossbar, and he prodded the ball over the line. Ninety seconds later Ciaran Higgins was clinical in his finish when left clear.

London's goal came three minutes from time when Mick Galvin, after some good work by Maguire, scored from close range.
