Cork City - 2 Derry City - 1: Late inclusion Dennis Behan was the toast of Leeside as he rescued a vital win for Cork City at Turner's Cross last night.

Behan, who was named in the side for late withdrawal Kevin Doyle, scored one and set up the second as Cork came from behind to record a morale-boosting win ahead of their European adventure next Saturday night.

After a first half that ended in stalemate it was Derry who looked the more likely to secure the spoils after taking a lead just shy of the hour mark through Alan Murphy.

Murphy took advantage when he found himself unmarked in the Cork penalty box to slot home a Ciaran Martin pass for the lead.

Cork responded positively, however, and were back on level terms five minutes from the end of normal time when an interchange of passes between Colin O'Brien and Billy Woods freed Behan and he struck home from close range.

Not content with the draw, Cork continued to push forward and got their reward a minute into injury time when Behan set up Liam Kearney for a piledriver that broke Derry's hearts.
