NATIONAL LEAGUE: UCD again belied their place at the foot of the Premier Division with a performance that failed to get the win it deserved; a point for Paul Doolin's students was not enough to lift them off the bottom as they twice came from behind.
Paul Osam, not having scored a league goal all season prior to hitting the winner in Longford last time out, scored again within eight minutes when he got on the end of Martin Russell's free kick to loop a header past Barry Ryan.
Robert Doyle equalised with a stunning 25 yard shot on 21 minutes before St Patrick's regained the lead through Ger McCarthy on 36 minutes.
UCD applied instant pressure from the resumption and were level again within two minutes. Alan Cawley's precise pass to John Martin opened up the home defence and Martin's cross was turned home at the back post by Tony McDonnell.
Cawley should then have won the game for UCD 13 minutes from time, but, having made the opening, he shot straight at Shay Kelly.
