UCD - 4 Bray Wanderers - 0: Inspired by two goals from Irish under-21 international midfielder Gary Dicker, UCD recorded their biggest win of the season when they easily saw off bottom-of-the-table Bray in last night's Premier Division clash at Belfield Park.

College goalkeeper Darren Quigley came to the home side's rescue as early as the sixth minute when deflecting a shot from 16 yards by Bray winger David Tyrrell after Michael Roche had created the opening.

UCD took the lead on 10 minutes after a foul by Bray defender Paul O'Reilly. From the resulting free on the right, the unmarked Dicker headed past Chris O'Connor from six yards.

Bray then had a let-off when Keith Doyle's cross from the left was spilled by O'Connor only for Kavanagh to shoot over when well placed. But the winger made up for it on 40 minutes when his low cross from the right deflected off Bray's Brian McGovern and Alan McNally fired home the rebound from 10 yards.

With the strong wind in their favour in the second half, Bray wasted chances to narrow the gap when when O'Reilly and Tyrrell were off target with long-range efforts.

The Seagulls were to rue those missed opportunities when Dicker had his second goal; again unmarked on 56 minutes, he glanced home a header from close range after a free by Mahon on the left following a foul by Colm Tresson on Derek Doyle.

The gap in class between the teams was emphasised on 66 minutes when UCD added a fourth goal after a Kavanagh cross from the right was palmed out by O'Connor for winger Derek Doyle to apply a clinical finish from 12 yards.

Goal-hungry Dicker then went close to a hat-trick just before the end, but his long-range effort was pushed onto the bar and away to safety by O'Connor.
