Dinghy sailing dominated the Irish Sailing Association agm on Saturday with a motion alleging the national authority for the sport was responsible for the decline in participation in fleets.

Greystones' Norman Lee and Sligo's Bryan Armstrong outlined problems ranging from the standard of instructors to lack of logbook requirements. The concentration on the junior and youth pathway programmes aimed at developing elite athletes was at the expense of clubs. The motion was set aside in favour of a meeting within the next month between clubs and classes and the association.

At the annual awards ceremony, Olympian Annalise Murphy was recognised with the achievement of the year award while paralympian John Twomey received the ISA President's award.
