"I think Sonia O'Sullivan's win in Sydney stands out. It was on quite early in the morning and like most people, I watched it at home. What most impressed me was the bravery of the performance. It was a hard run psychologically, particularly given the disappointments she suffered previously. To see her come through like that was quite something. I have crossed paths with her at various functions without ever actually meeting her, but like everyone, I was delighted. Aside from that, Tiger Woods' domination of golf was something else. He really is a world apart. I had hoped to go down to see him play in Limerick, but it was the day after the Leinster final and I was just too sore to travel. But he is coming to Mount Juliet in a few years, so hopefully I'll see him then."
