Grand National update:Nil Desperandum, who was fatally injured at Uttoxeter on Saturday, has been replaced at the head of the John Smith's Grand National market by the Tony Martin-trained Dun Doire with leading bookmakers Ladbrokes and Coral.
Dun Doire was in action at Down Royal where he landed a hard-fought victory in the Tennent's No.1 Chase on Saturday. The even-money favourite was all out to hold Romaha by three-quarters of a length.
Ladbrokes left Tony Martin's charge unchanged at 10 to 1. Spokesman David Williams said: "Dun Doire did what he had to do but the performance hasn't exactly sent us running for cover.
"We didn't see anything that warranted shortening up the favourite."
Christy Roche faces a race against time to get Far From Trouble ready for the Grand National.
"He was grand in Cheltenham on Sunday morning but prodded a foot joint which became infected," said Roche.
"The horse has now had a lot of antibiotics and it's going to be a race against time to get him ready for Aintree. It's touch and go," added Roche.
The major shake-up in the market came about by the tragic incident at Uttoxeter. The 10-year-old, trained by Venetia Williams, broke a leg after jumping the eighth fence in a race won by Baron Windrush.
Williams said: "He shattered a pastern the second he landed. He jumped the fence fine and it just happened on landing.
"He has been a star of the season and jumping has been his forte."
Simon is reported to be on target for the Aintree showpiece. The Racing PostChase winner, owned and bred by former trainer Mercy Rimell, is generally available at 20 to 1 for the marathon on April 14th, for which he is set to carry 10st 11lb.
"He's fine and he won't run again before the National," trainer John Spearing.
"I think he'll take to the course. You never know until they get there, but I can't see why he wouldn't."

Gowran inspection
Today's meeting at Gowran Park is subject to an inspection this morning at 8am.
Heavy snow and sleet showers throughout Sunday paired with an "adverse weather forecast" has left the meeting in the balance.
