The millennium Pitch and Putt National Strokeplay champions Marina O'Rourke (Cloghogue) and Ray Murphy (Templebreedy) have accepted an invitation from the Netherlands PPB to the official opening of the new course at Groningen in April next year. The Irish pair will play an exhibition match against the Dutch champions.

Meanwhile, the PPUI new registrar, Liam Sherry (St Brigid's) has been appointed National Childrens' Officer. The appointment is made to comply with the provisions of the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children's Sport published by the Irish Sports Council.

A panel of 24 men and 12 women have been named by the PPUI from which next year's international teams will be selected.
