Dubai Destination can book his ticket for the Vodafone Derby with victory in the Letheby & Christopher Predominate Stakes at Goodwood today.
The Godolphin-owned colt was made ante-post favourite for the Sagitta 2000 Guineas after beating Rock Of Gibraltar in great style in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last September but he has not raced since after sustaining an injury while being prepared for the Dewhurst Stakes.
And his reappearance this season was also delayed after he suffered a slight setback in March.
But connections now report him to be making progress and although he may not be 100 per cent he still looks too classy for his rivals.
Highdown, who defeated Godolphin's Moon Ballad at Newmarket, looks the big danger.
But if Dubai Destination produces the burst of speed which took him from last to first in a matter of strides at Doncaster, nothing will get a look in today.
