Women's Football National League: Dublin's women's footballers tumbled to their second successive defeat in the National Football League yesterday as Tyrone beat them in Greencastle, 1-11 to 0-7. Dublin, who remain without a manager, travelled to Tyrone after a defeat away to Waterford.
The Dublin County Board are still searching for a successor to John O'Leary and this defeat will add to the pressure of appointing a manager soon as the threat of relegation looms.
Tyrone always looked in control after Sarah Connolly scored a first-half goal to set them up for the win.
Elsewhere in Division One A yesterday, Kerry beat Waterford 2-13 to 2-8 in Lemybrien.
Meath continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-18 to 0-4 win over Monaghan in Division One B at Ratoath. Mary Sheridan registered two first-half goals to fire Meath into a 2-5 to 0-2 half-time lead. The home side continued where they had left off on the resumption with Geraldine Doherty (four points) and Jackie Shiels (five) causing Monaghan all sorts of problems. Grainne Nulty hit Meath's third goal 10 minutes into the second half.
In Division One B All-Ireland champions Cork chalked up a second consecutive success with a 0-19 to 0-4 win over Roscommon in Templederry while Galway defeated Donegal 5-13 to 1-7 in Bundoran.
