Dublin emerged clear winners at a wet and deserted Austin Stack Park, Tralee on Saturday. The scoreline, however, does scant justice to Kerry's efforts. They trailed by just two points with 15 minutes remaining, but Dublin moved up a gear and crushed the home team with two late goals.

Kerry's chief scorer was Michael Slattery from frees while Brendan O'Sullivan added a longrange point. Kerry were two points behind, 0-11 to 2-7, after 15 minutes, but Dublin finished the stronger and despite a great save by Kerry goalkeeper John Healy from Carroll they added two further goals from substitute Colm Fetherstone and Carroll in the last 10 minutes.
