ST BRIGID’S will meet Kilmacud Crokes in the fourth round of the Dublin SFC, a repeat of last year’s final. Brigid’s, the runners-up, accounted for a game Na Fianna side in Parnell Park on Saturday evening, 0-14 to 0-11.
Brigid’s led at half-time, 0-9 to 0-6, yet the Glasnevin club had levelled matters eight minutes into the second period. But unanswered points from Paddy Andrews, Lorcan McCarthy, Philly Ryan and Mark Cahill helped see Brigid’s home.
On the same bill, Ballymun Kickhams had too much class for Erin’s Isle. Kevin Leahy, Conor Weir and Ted Furman got the goals as Ballymun won 3-13 to 0-7.
Yesterday in Swords the 2009 champs, Ballyboden St Enda’s, were held to a draw, after extra-time, by Mick Deegan’s Fingal Ravens.
Boden were reduced to 14 players in the 41st minute when Dublin’s Michael Darragh Macauley received his second yellow card. The tie ended 0-12 apiece.
Also in Swords, O’Toole’s were in splendid form as they accounted for Ballinteer St John’s 2-12 to 0-8.
O’Toole’s dominated the hour. Their goals came either side of the break from Paddy Carton and Philip Brennan. In Parnell Park, Brian Talty’s Parnells saw off Raheny 1-13 to 1-5 with Armagh’s John Murtagh landing nine points.
In the O’Toole Park double-bill on Saturday, Brendan Gallaghers goal helped Lucan defeat St Anne’s 1-11 to 1-5, and goals from Seán Reilly and Ciaran Farrelly helped Thomas Davis topple St Patrick’s of Palmerstown 2-13 to 1-8.
