Dublin wait on McNally

Dublin make at least two changes for next Sunday's clash with All-Ireland champions Galway in Ballinasloe.

Dublin make at least two changes for next Sunday's clash with All-Ireland champions Galway in Ballinasloe.

Gone from the last-minute defeat by Roscommon last weekend are Jonny Magee, Declan Darcy and Eoin Bennis. Into the team come Magee's brother Darren and Senan Connell, with a vacancy left at full forward, to be filled by John McNally if he can prove his fitness.

The match could be vital for Tommy Lyons's team, as although play-off qualification is impossible, defeat by Galway plus a combination of other unwelcome results could see them relegated from Division One.

Galway's hurling counterparts Tipperary have named a strong side for the re-fixture against Offaly at Birr this Saturday.

The team shows four changes from the side that heavily defeated Derry last weekend. Back come All Stars Brendan Cummins and Philip Maher at goalkeeper and full back, in place of Justin Cottrell and Paul Curran. Benny Dunne and John Enright drop back, with Paul Kelly and Liam Cahill returning at wing back and corner forward.

Tyrone will go into Sunday's final Division One A tie against Cork on Sunday with an injury-free squad. And they will be boosted by the availability of Owen Mulligan, Enda McGinley and Sean Kavanagh, who did not feature in the win over Westmeath last weekend after playing for the under-21s on Saturday.

The Ulster champions have already qualified for the NFL semi-finals, but will be travelling intent on picking up another win to top the group and avoid in-form Mayo in the penultimate round.

"We're into the play-off stages, and that was our aim from the start of the year," said captain Peter Canavan. "It has yet to be decided whether we go through as winners or as runners-up, depending on next week's games.

"But we're delighted to be there, and it will be very important to get at least one extra game before the championship.

"There's great competition for places. There are a lot of fellas on the under-21 team who are pushing strongly for a place on the senior team, so I think if anybody is given a jersey they will be doing their best to hold on to it."
