Aidan Duff (Bray) beat Michael McNena (Thermo King) at the finish of the Tour of the Mournes at Newry on Saturday and McNena goes into second place in the classic league behind Tommy Evans.

Duff and McNena were home from their French teams for the national championship the previous week, when Duff finished ninth, and they had it between them on Saturday.

Over the last 20 of the 75 miles the two leaders clung to a lead of just 25 seconds but they held out and Duff led the way across the line with David Peelo third at 20 seconds followed by Conor Henry and Paddy Moriarty.

In the league, Evans stays on 46 points but McNena goes to 24 with Kieran MacMahon and Neil Teggart next on 21.
